Sumter Harvest Festival Scarecrow Contest

From left to Right Marlita Bridges (Reporter/Historian), Ethan Johnson (Vice President), Chico Davis (Parliamentarian), and Jose Rosa (member)

For the second year in a row Sumter County is holding a scarecrow contest. SGTC's Phi Beta Lambda entered a scarecrow in the contest. The chapter and advisors wanted to find a chapter project that would promote South Georgia Technical College as well as the PBL chapter.

It was a great team building/ ice breaker for both newly elected officers and members. Students from the Motorsports and Automotive program also helped in creating the PBL scarecrow. The theme that SGTC's PBL used was "Growing Leaders".

The community votes via text on what they believe to be the most outstanding scarecrows. Winners of the contest will be announced on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Sumter Harvest Festival in Lenny’s Market. The prize is bragging rights until next year.
