Salvation Army Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive

Secretary Charleen Hegg and Vice President Ethan Johnson taking a break from assembling boxes for Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive

It’s that time of year again SGTC! Time for the boxes to come out and the nonperishable items start pouring in. We started putting the boxes out Wednesday, October 30th in varies programs and general core classrooms for donations. We will collect all donations and Thanksgiving donations on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. The program with the most nonperishable items will receive a trophy that will serve as bragging rights until next year when we put the boxes out again. The winning program will also be recognized on our blog for their donations.

It goes beyond the bragging rights and trophy. Hunger is a huge issue here in South Georgia. 1 in 5 South Georgians are living with food insecurity every day. 1 in 4 are children (Americus Times Recorder) Your donations will help make a difference within our community. All food collected will be donated to the Salvation Army in Americus.

So help PBL make a difference today. All nonperishable items in original packaging is welcomed.  We thank you for your support.
